The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a warning of heavy rainfall to Acre on Wednesday (17), with a degree of severity classified as potential danger. The alert began at 9:25 am and continues until 10am, Brasília time, from Thursday (18).

According to Inmet, the region can register rainfall between 20 and 30 mm/h and can reach up to 50 mm within 24 hours. In addition, intense winds from 40 to 60 km/h are also expected. Phenomena can cause flooding, falling tree branches, electric discharges and occasional cuts of electricity.
The institute recommends to the population not to be sheltered under trees during gusts and avoid parking vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs due to the risk of falls. It is also oriented not to use electronic devices linked to the socket during the storm period.
In case of emergency, the population should contact the Civil Defense by telephone 199 or the Fire Department by 193.
