NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang expressed his disappointment after a report from Financial Times reveal that China has banned the use of the company’s artificial intelligence chips in its market.

“We probably contribute more to the Chinese market than most countries. And I’m disappointed with what I see,” said Huang.

According to the newspaper, China’s cyberspace administration would have guided large local companies, such as Bytedance and Alibaba, not to purchase the RTX Pro 6000D chip, specially developed for the country.

Huang said Nvidia can only act in markets that accept it and highlighted the company’s significant contribution to the Chinese market over the last 30 years.

However, he acknowledged that political tensions between the United States and China have impacted the company’s business, describing the scenario as a “roller coaster.” “They have larger schedules to solve between China and the United States, and I understand that,” he said.

The situation gets worse after the US government imposes restrictions on Nvidia’s AI chips to China, motivated by national security concerns.

In August, there was an agreement between then -President Donald Trump and Nvidia to release H20 chip export licenses, in exchange for 15% of Chinese sales to the US government. Even so, China continues to adopt restrictive measures against the company.

In addition to commercial limitations, Nvidia faces an antitrust investigation in China related to the acquisition of Mellanox, an Israeli company for Data Center solutions.

At the same time, Huang follows Trump on an official visit to the UK, where Nvidia announced an investment of $ 15 billion in AI infrastructure, reinforcing her commitment to global technological development.

Despite the challenges, Huang stressed the importance of the Chinese market for Nvidia and said the company will continue to support both the Chinese and the American government as geopolitical issues are resolved.
