Microsoft () announced on Tuesday (16) an investment of US $ 30 billion in (AI) infrastructure by 2028. The amount will be divided equally between capital spending and local operations, with the objective of boosting the country’s technological capacity.
Part of the investment will be intended for the construction of the largest UK supercomputer, equipped with more than 23,000 advanced graphic processing units (GPUs), in partnership with the British Computing Company NSCale. The initiative aims to strengthen the position of the United Kingdom as leader in state -of -the -art technology.
The announcement takes place amid the official visit of the United States President, to the United Kingdom, where he should meet with the Prime Minister. During the visit, it is planned to sign an agreement for collaboration in AI, quantum computing and nuclear technologies.
