PEC of Armage: Secret Vote is overthrown – 17/09/2025 – Power

The centron suffered a defeat at the end of the vote that approved the Armage PEC on Tuesday (16). With the quorum low after midnight, a modification in the text, supported by leftist deputies and the new, ended up overthrowing the provision of the proposal that established a secret vote.

The text, called by the PEC deputies of prerogatives, aims to (Supreme Federal Court) against parliamentarians by requiring prior license from the legislature. This authorization will have to be deliberated by the respective house within 90 days from the receipt of the Supreme Order.

The original text provided that this vote was secret, but when this point was deliberated separately in plenary, it was overthrown. There were 296 votes in favor of the secret vote and 174 contrary, but a majority of 308 was needed to maintain the stretch.

After the defeat, the mayor, (-PB), ended the session, postponing the analysis of two more highlights that could change the text to avoid further setback.

Motta minimized the defeat by leaving the plenary, attributing the lack of votes to the low quorum given at night at night.
