Military operations were held during exercise at 41 training grounds
Strategic exercise West-20125 took place from 12 to 16 September in Russia and Belarus, Baltic and Barents Sea. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, military operations were held during the West-2025 exercise at 41 training grounds in Russia and Belarus.
The main phase of the exercise was held on the polygon Mulino in the Nižnonovgorod region, where Russian President Vladimir Putin also visited Tuesday. He informed that 100,000 soldiers and approximately 10,000 weapons and technology systems were involved in the exercise.
The Russian Ministry of Defense informed that, especially within the western-20125 maneuvers, flights of strategic rocket racket carriers TU-160, TU-22M3 remote bombers and MiG-31 aircraft with Kinžal hypersonic missiles were held over the Barents Sea. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that the West-20125 exercise also included the planning of the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, as well as the deployment of the Orešnik missile system.
