AGU Higher School promotes Sanctioner Administrative Law Seminar

The Higher School of the Attorney General of the Union () promoted, on Wednesday (17), in, the first seminar on Administrative Law sanctioning. The meeting brought together authorities, jurists and experts to discuss contemporary challenges of the subject, such as the application of the anti -corruption law, integrity in public administration and the role of public law after the reform of the administrative misconduct law. The sanctioning administrative directorate is a new branch in Brazil and that regulates the application of sanctions to individuals or legal entities that breach rules or obligations imposed by the State.

During the event, there was also the launch of the collective work “Novos Rumos of Administrative Law Sanctioner”, organized by the School of AGU. The book has reference texts in the area and an unprecedented article by Professor Fábio Medina Osório.

The General Lawyer of the Substitute Union, Flávio José Roman, and the director of the school, João Carlos Souto, highlighted the contribution of Fábio Medina Osório to the consolidation of sanctioning administrative law in Brazil. “The tenth edition of his recently released classic work is a milestone in the discussion of administrative misconduct and combating corruption,” says Flávio Roman.

The seminar also highlighted the relevance of integrity policies on public management and the impacts of anti -corruption law, topics addressed by experts from AGU and public law, such as the chairman of the AGU ethics committee, Mariana Montenegro. The program continued with compliance panels, leniency agreements and the limits of the reform of the misconduct law. The event reinforces the role of the school of AGU as a space for reflection and production of legal knowledge.
