Gonzaga celebrates the creation of the Peru-Brazil Committee that highlights Acre's importance in commercial intergering

The first secretary of the Acre Legislative Assembly (Aleac), Deputy Luiz Gonzaga, celebrated the advances of Acre’s commercial partnership with Peru after meetings of Peruvian and Brazilian authorities during the VIII Vice Ministerial Commission of Border Integration and the XIV Political Consultation Mechanism, which took place on Wednesday (17), in Brasilia.

One of the crucial points of the meeting was the creation of the Peru-Brazil Central Committee for Integration, composed by Ucayali and Acre. Another important point that was defined was the expansion of the opening hours of the Federal Tax Agency and the Federal Police in Iñapari-Assis, which operates from 7am to 7pm.

The measure, which aligns the time with Peruvian control, aims to streamline procedures, increase safety and improve care for those who cross the border for work, tourism or commerce.

Gonzaga stated that the creation of the Peru-Brazil Central Committee shows the importance of Acre for this process of strengthening commercial integration between the two countries.

“Acre consolidates itself as an important commercial route between Brazil and Southern Amenter countries. Peru is an important commercial ally in Brazil and the creation of the committee will be important to Acre and Ucayali, generating business opportunities between the two regions,” said the parliamentarian.

In addition, the integration of Peru with the Juruá region is still in progress with the approval of a new border integration corridor. Called “Central Export Corridor”, it will be a forum dedicated to dealing exclusively with integration with the neighboring country. Recently, Luiz Gonzaga traveled the route between Acre and Ucayali to get to know the challenges and potentialities of the neighboring country, showing commitment to bilateral trade.

“Recognition by the Peruvian government through the ‘Central Export Corridor’ and the commitment of the Brazilian government in expanding the hours of service of Brazilian bodies demonstrate that our agendas are being heard and assisted in the federal spheres, both Brazilian and Peruvian,” said Gonzaga.

The coordinator of the Civil House, Ítalo Medeiros, who attended the meeting in Brasilia, said that the meeting served to intensify the partnership actions with Peru defended by the Governor of Acre, Gladson Camelí.

“This meeting demonstrates that the actions of the State Government and all the efforts that Governor Gladson Cameli’s team has employed to promote integration have been bringing positive results to our state. We are working dayly and very soon we will have other advances in this regard,” he said.

Ucayali Governador Manuel Gambini also attended the meeting and highlighted the importance of the creation of the Peru-Brazil Central Committee.

“It is an achievement that has been worked for years and represents a milestone in the attribution of a leadership role to Ucayali on the binational agenda. This new space will promote key projects such as the Cruzeiro do Sul-Pucucllpa transfronical flights, the strengthening of Pucallpa’s river and logistical transport connected to the port of Chancay, as well as health, environment and safety initiatives,” he said.
