Governing deputies criticized the centrão alliance with pockets to approve the urgency of the amnesty project on Wednesday night (17). Meanwhile, the right parliamentarians reaffirmed their intention to contemplate the former president (PL) in forgiveness.
The approval of the urgency causes no need to endorse the commissions of the Chamber to the text. Thus, the proposal can be appreciated directly by the plenary, which speeds up the process.
They were (with seven abstentions) to the urgency of the bill proposed by Deputy Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos-RJ), with the support of Centrão parties-they were necessary 257 for approval. Now, parliamentarians must still analyze the merit, still without defined text or established date.
At a news conference after the House session, the deputy stated that the bench does not accept penalties to former President Jair Bolsonaro. The petista stated that “this class does not want pacification” and said there was a “surrender to pockets.”
“It is a sad day for Brazilian democracy that will mark the history of this parliament,” he told the press. “What they argued was to reject the urgency and come with an alternative project, which we at the PT bench did not accept, from Bolsonaro’s penalties. They came with a project that opens the way to impose a Bolsonarist text at the time of merit vote,” he added.
In a speech during the session, Lindbergh recalled Hugo Motta of the riot made by opposition deputies in August after Bolsonaro’s house arrest.
“Those amotinas who took over your table, President Hugo Motta, that class that disrespected you, that class that was not punished. Look there, are celebrating, we know they will climb more,” said the PT leader.
Vice-leader of the government, Deputy Alencar Santana Braga (PT-SP) said that the objective of the opposition is to rescue Bolsonaro’s political rights. “What you want is simply to give political rights to the one who is arrested, who attacked, who assaulted, even during his term, also our people.”
Petista Rogério Correia (PT-MG) attributed the approval to a unit on the right with the far right. “I want to know how they will solve the later problem, because this amnesty is unconstitutional. The president could not solve anything. As always, Hugo Motta threw the problem forward.”
Correia also believes that the Centrão deputies have decided to do “a nod they do to the far right” and argued that the government does not enter the joints to block the approval of amnesty merit. “The government should not spend a penny because it will be barred in the Senate or the Supreme Court. It is just a stir that the far right does against the democratic system.”
The leader of the PL in the House, Deputy (RJ), said that the amnesty should contemplate the acts, which would encompass former President Jair Bolsonaro.
“Amnesty is not for people but for acts. Let’s argue for events and never for people, I find this discussion unnecessary, whether it is with Bolsonaro or not, because there will be no name of anyone in amnesty, let’s amnesty the acts,” he said.
“Let’s fight because President Bolsonaro is neither better nor worse than all the wronged in a plot that has never existed and with absurd feathers,” he added. “The elastic score above the PEC quorum shows the sensation of the house that there were huge, injustice and constitutionally it is up to Congress to vote or approve amnesty.”
In a speech at the House Tribune during the vote, the parliamentarian said that the approval of the urgency would not represent a clash between powers, not directly mentioning the Supreme Court (STF).
Other scholarship politicians celebrated the result through social networks.
“A long time ago it was impossible to be based, even more impossible to pass the urgency with 311 votes. We will continue to pursue the impossible. The work is not over yet,” he wrote (-MG) on social networks
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, congratulated the deputies and demanded that the text of the amnesty be broad, general and unrestricted. “Only then will we be able to pacify Brazil,” he published on the networks.
