Russia will not agree with the proposals of Ukraine to close the ceasefire and the organization of unconditional negotiations at the level of the presidents, because it considers them to be an attempt to “another circus piece”. According to TASS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Russian state television on Thursday, TASR writes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj repeatedly calls for a meeting with the head of Kremlin Vladimir Putin in order to negotiate a ceasefire in a war that Russia started in February 2022. Moscow so far refuses. However, Zelenskyj claims that only leaders’ negotiations can lead to conflict. At the beginning of September, Putin invited Moscow to Moscow, but Kiev subsequently described as unacceptable.
Green and Putin: Conflicts
“They just want to show off another circus piece in which Greeny – looking so manly, unshaven and camouflage – begins to say to Putin and others what to do and how to think. For him it is important to shine on stage. We will not agree.
According to him, Russia is also prepared to seek compromises on the end of the war in Ukraine – provided that Russia’s interests in the field of security and rights of the Russian -speaking population in Ukraine will be respected.
Donald Trump’s efforts
US President Donald Trump also tried to organize an appointment of Ukrainian and Russian president after his negotiations with Putin in Alaska in mid -August. Recently, however, he admitted that they are not yet ready to conduct common negotiations, because he said there is a great degree of hostility among them.
“Hate between Green and Putin is incomprehensible. I think I will have to have all the conversations … They hate so much that they can hardly talk,” Trump said on Sunday.
Pressure on Russia
In an effort to put pressure on Russia, the White House chief has repeatedly called on NATO Member States in recent days to stop buying oil from him, and declared that he was ready to impose extensive sanctions on Moscow. This was conditioned by the fact that NATO countries must do it first.
Lavrov said in an interview that Trump and American officials, compared to other Western politicians, expressed their understanding of the need to solve the underlying causes of war in Ukraine. For those Moscow often states the extension of NATO or the possible admission of Kiev to the Alliance and requires that Ukraine withdraw from its four areas claimed by Russia.
