I don’t always feel like experimenting in the kitchen. Sometimes I’m looking for recipes for cakes without inventions. Recently, I came across an autumn roulade with sister Anastasia’s apples. Only seasonal fruit wrapped in a sponge cake without a leaking cream. Of course, I bet on my own and diversified her.

It is worth using Antonówka, kostela or champions for an insane roulade. You don’t have to roast these apples like an apple pie. All we have to do is wipe them out on a large grater. The other ingredients are typical of sponge cake.

What ingredients do we need to make an apple roulade? Here is the exact list:

  • 5 apples;
  • 4 eggs at room temperature;
  • 1/2 cup of sugar;
  • 3/4 cup of cake flour;
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

To make a roulade with apples, at the beginning we separate the proteins from the yolks and beat them with sugar to a rigid, thick, shiny foam. Remember to add it in batches.

Then add one yolk to the foam and mix the whole shortly after each add. In a separate bowl, we combine sifted wheat flour and baking powder. The dry mixture should be mixed with foam spatula, being careful not to lose its fluffiness.

In the next step we peel apples and rub them on a large grater. We put them on the oven baking tray previously lined with parchment and impress with excess water. They must create an even layer. Pour the fruit with biscuit mass and level the whole with a spatula.

Bake the sponge cake with apples in the oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. The dough must take on a golden color, but it cannot be too dry, because it will crumble when rolling.

Finally, put the dough upside down on the cloth and carefully remove the parchment. We roll a warm sponge cake into a roulade.

It is worth sprinkling with apple rolls with powdered sugar or brown sugar. My family likes spices, which is why I sprinkle this cake with cinnamon and sometimes a pinch of ginger or cardamom.

Nothing prevents you from pouring this autumn baking with a dark coating or. It also goes well with salty caramel. It is worth decorate with almonds or nuts.
