The Fernando Ferrari Administrative Center (CAFF), a ramp -shaped building that hosts most of the Rio Grande do Sul executive branch, will become a skate track for one day.
The skateboarder and hexac champion Sandro Dias, Mineirinho, will go down the side of the 85 -meter -high building and 21 floors this month, at an event organized by Red Bull, which signed an agreement with the gaucho government to perform a marketing action on site.
The so -called Red Bull Building Drop will take place next week, with no date released. On the other hand, the food company will build two skate ramps in the state.
In addition to the temporary structure, signs were placed in the brands of Red Bull and a red band with the Prada brand symbol, a partner in the realization.
Built in the 1980s to center state departments, CAFF became one of the largest architectural symbols in Porto Alegre and its steep shape fed the imagination of generations of young people who dreamed of sliding skateboarding.
Despite the symbolism of this radical idea among the Porto Alegre, the event will take place without audiences and will only be broadcast online. Red Bull has exclusivity of image capture on the day and will record the descent for a advertising video.
This Thursday (18), Mineirinho went to the building for the second time this month to practice the descent. The north wing of the CAFF, where the event will take place, received temporary structures to adapt the inclination of the building to the maneuver. He had already done tests on the 7th.
The state government said the absence of audience follows safety standards adopted in other similar initiatives of the brand.
“This reduces pressure and it is ensured that emergency protocols can be triggered quickly and without logistical obstruction if necessary,” the executive said in a statement.
Confirmation of the date also depends on a forecast of adequate weather conditions. Also according to the government, there is no contribution of public funds in the organization of the event.
