In Portugal, the legal age to renovate is fixed in 66 years and 7 months. However, there are specific situations in which it is possible to request early reform without penalties in the amount of the pension. According to Social Security, cited by the source, the rule requires that the worker reaches the legal age, has at least 15 years of discounts and has sufficient contributory registration for the pension to be calculated.
Still, the legislation opens exceptions to some cases, allowing the departure of active life to happen earlier, without losses in the monthly amount received.
Very long careers
One of the scenarios in which it is possible to reform in advance without cutting applies to those who have very extensive contributory careers.
