A cyber attack causes delays and cancellations in several European airports | Economy

Brussels airports, Berlin or Heathrow (London) have been affected last night by a cyber attack against a billing and shipping services provider, which has caused delays and cancellations, as reported on Saturday the airport entity. In a note, Brussels Airport says that cyber attack also affected several European airports, without giving more details. At the moment, there is a record of disturbances in Berlin

The incidence has forced to manually carry out the operations of check-in and shipment. The entity ensures that the attack “has a great impact on the flight calendar and unfortunately will cause delays and flight cancellations.” The provider of check-in and shipping services “is actively working on the matter and trying to solve the problem as quickly as possible,” adds the note.

For its part, Berlin airport has issued a note in which it states that “due to technical problems in a systems provider that operates throughout Europe, there are greater waiting times for Check-In. We work for a quick solution.” A similar message has issued Heathrow Airport, in London, on social networks.

Thus, both operators advise passengers with flight this Saturday, September 20 to verify the status of their flight with their airline before moving to the airport and only go if their flight is confirmed.
