The Brazilian João FonsecaCurrent 42nd ATP ranking will make its debut at Laver Cup 2025 defending the World team. The 19 -year -old Brazilian will face the Italian Flavio Cobollinumber 25 of the world, representative of Team Europe. Played since 2017 in different cities, Laver Cup reaches its eighth edition. The competition was created from a partnership between Roger Federer, businessman and former tennis player Jorge Paulo Lemann and the Australian Tennis Federation. So far, Time Europa has won five titles in seven editions.

How does laver cup work?

Each match is played at better than three sets, the last set always in the 10-point tie-break format. There are three games a day, two simple and one doubles.

The victories on Friday are worth a point on Saturday, two points and on Sunday, three points-ensuring that no team becomes champion before the last day.

Win the Laver Cup the team that adds 13 points. If the competition is tied the 12 games, a final double match is played to decree the champion.
