Driven by the support of artists on social networks, left social movements go to the streets on Sunday (21) in protest against after the vote on and the urgency for the amnesty project.
Increased acts were convened, including 22 capitals, by the fronts without fear and popular Brazil, linked to PSOL and PT and bringing movements such as the MST (Landless Rural Workers Movement) and the MTST (Homeless Workers Movement).
“It had to be now, in the heat of indignation, because it was in fact a week when Congress decided to approve two of the biggest nonsense in the history of the Brazilian Parliament, I could not be watching only for the networks. Sheet Raimundo Bonfim, coordinator of the Popular Movement Center and the Popular Brazil Front.
The demonstrations occur amid embarrassment between the parties after 12 PT deputies vote in favor of the PEC of the Armage, which has also been called the bandit PEC for allowing Congress to bar arrests of parliamentarians and criminal proceedings in the (Supreme Court) against deputies and senators.
Although they disobeyed the party’s guidance against the proposal, the petistas who voted in favor of the PEC argued that the posture was with the mayor, (-PB), to try to block the advance of the amnesty agenda, which has been prioritized by pockets after the condemnation of () by the coup plot. The day after the vote, the urgency to vote for the amnesty was approved at the house.
The group has been both in internal PT and social networking meetings. PT parliamentarians claim to have been deceived.
“We made an intense effort here to try to prevent the amnesty from going forward. The centrão broke the agreement and showed, once again, his concealed, liar and coup face. Today we lost, I lost and learned from you a harsh lesson. Be sure that I will not forget her,” said Kiko Celeguim (PT-SP), state president of PT in Sao Paulo.
“It is unfortunate that 12 PT deputies have fallen in a scam of the vote,” said Raimundo Bonfim, who is affiliated with the PT.
Parliamentarians of the acronym also apologized on social networks after the negative repercussion. Merlong Solano (PT-PI), for example, published a public retraction note speaking of serious misconception with the favorable vote.
While the participation of the presidents of leftist and parliamentarians are expected on the stands of the acts, especially those of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, there is still doubt if the deputies who voted in favor of the amnesty intend to attend.
The Lula government ministers (PT), at least so far, have not confirmed, in a presence of the Planalto Palace so as not to aggravate the executive’s friction with the Legislature – calls, as well as recent left acts, have been made under the motto of “People’s Enemy Congress.”
In Rio de Janeiro, the act will be at 14h at Post 5 of Copacabana and will feature, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, expecting the organizers to attract an audience beyond the left -aligned protesters.
In São Paulo, the demonstration will be in front of MASP, on Paulista Avenue, also at 14h. The expectation is to expand the public that went on September 7 in the Anhangabaú Valley, according to the monitor of CEBRAP’s political debate.
For Ana Paula Perles, national coordinator of the MTST and the People’s Front without fear, the fact that there is no fear of finding pockets on the streets, such as September 7, and the possibility of doing the act in a more central place help in the possibility of a larger audience.
According to Ana Paula, the acts intend to explore the fact that Amnesty and the Armage PEC have been prioritized in the votes, while Congress has waged guidelines of interest to the population, such as the end of the 6×1 work scale, the taxation of the richest and the exemption from the income tax for those who receive up to $ 5,000 per month.
“This was not healthy for Congress and only opened another layer of privileges and shields, which increased people’s revolt on networks.”
“While in the last act [7 de setembro]the right took the United States flag to the demonstration, showing alignment with Donald Trump and submission to him, what the left has been trying to dialogue with the themes that really interest society. “
