Nunes Rescinde contract with company after employee criticizes Charlie Kirk, says website

The social organization responsible for managing the Municipal Theater complex had its contract with the São Paulo City Hall terminated. This is because the mayor of the city, Ricardo Nunes, decided to break the bond after the company refused to dismiss an employee who criticized the influencer Charlie Kirk, who was killed in the United States and was famous for supporting Donald Trump. According to the site, the termination came after a company sustainedly made an Instagram post in which he called Kirk “Nazi”. The publication of Pedro Guida, who is the company’s cast manager, went viral.

Right politicians, then, such as Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) and Councilman Adrilles Jorge (União Brasil), pressured for the resignation of Guida. The sustained, however, hesitated to fire the employee. However, the Municipal Theater Foundation stressed that it had requested the employee’s dismissal.

Given the situation, Nunes requested the Attorney General’s Office that the contract with Sustenidos was terminated. In a statement, the City said that “conducts the process of termination of the contract with the current manager in accordance with the legislation and administrative rules.”

It is expected that a public call will be released to hire the new social organization that will manage the foundation.
