The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested on Saturday (20) eight members of Flamengo’s Young Fans, including the president of the organized, suspected of involvement in the death of Rodrigo José da Silva Sant’Anna, 36, fan of Vasco shot in the head on the 11th.

The death took place in Oswaldo Cruz, north of Rio, on the night of the game between Botafogo and Vasco. But it was a fight between Vasco’s young force and Flamengo’s young fans, police said, which caused Rodrigo’s death. He was shot in the head. Another man was injured.

Among the prisoners is Tiago Souza, president of the young woman from Flamengo. The report did not find his defense. Police did not detail Souza’s participation in the episode.

Flamengo’s young crowd did not comment on the arrests. Prohibited from attending stadiums by court decision on Tuesday, the organized published a statement stating that “will fully comply with the decision.”

This Sunday Flamengo and Vasco face each other in Maracanã, at 5:30 pm, for the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship. The Military Police must set up a special policing scheme.

“All the young crow’s platoons will remain in their respective neighborhoods, fully accepting the court decision.”

The investigation by the Capital’s DHC (Homicide Police Station) pointed out that Rodrigo and other fans were ambushed. The suspects of the attack used fireworks, and witnesses reported to the police had heard at least four shots.

“The crime had ‘futile, abject and primitive’ motivation, with the bandits organized to attack other fans. They did not use symbols of the team to cheer to avoid identification,” the Civil Police said in a statement.

A video that circulates on social networks shows a group of about 50 members of Vasco’s young force walking down João Vicente Street in Oswaldo Cruz, on the edge of the train line, when they are surprised by gunshots.

One group tries to retreat, but another continues to walk.

Another video shows fans entering a market to protect themselves. One of them sits on the floor and says he took a shot in the foot.

Flamengo’s young fans, one of the oldest in the club, was prohibited from attending sporting events for the next two years, in a decision of the Special Court of the fan and the major events, of the Rio de Janeiro Court.

The removal was a request from the Rio de Janeiro Prosecutor’s Office, which understood that there was a series of crimes committed on August 31, a date that marked the return of the young woman to the stadiums.

The young woman has accumulated suspensions since 2015 – the latter had been in 2021. A TAC (Conduct Adjustment Term) signed this year between the organized board and the prosecutor released the return by rules.

On the afternoon of the return to Maracanã, according to Military Police reports, members with the fans uniform jumped the train roller stations and walked the railway. In Niterói and Cidade de Deus, alleged members of the young woman traveled on the bus ceiling, on the so -called “Road Surfing”.

Videos attached to a lawsuit at the Court of Justice show police reports.

In the evening, members with the shirt of Flamengo’s young woman assaulted Vasco fans who saw television in a Copacabana bar. One of the perpetrators of the aggression hurled chairs and tables in a man.

In a note published on social networks, the young woman said “the importance that sporting events are safe”, but said “the suspension penalizes a collective of thousands of fans who work responsibly.” He also said he will appeal.
