UN Security Council approved on Friday the restoration of international sanctions against Iran for its nuclear program on September 28, at the request of France, the United Kingdom and Germany
O It will suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) if the sanctions of the one are actually restored, warned on Saturday (20) the main national security authority, after the United Nations Security Council gave Green Light to this measure. The UN Security Council approved on Friday the restoration of international sanctions against Iran for its nuclear program on September 28, at the request of France, the United Kingdom and Germany.
“Despite the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the agency (UN, the AIEA) and the presentation of proposals to resolve the issue, the actions of European countries will actually suspend the path of cooperation,” the Superior Council of National Security in a television statement. This body, which has the last word in Iran in security, is directed by President Masud Pezeshkian.
Due to a law passed by Parliament in July, Iran suspended its cooperation with the AIEA after the 12 -day war triggered on June 13 by an attack by Israel in Iranian territory. Iran criticized the UN agency for not condemning Israeli and later Americans attacks that targeted their nuclear facilities.
However, in early September, the Islamic Republic agreed to resume its cooperation with the AIEA after hitting a new milestone. The endorsement given on Friday by the UN Security Council to the restoration of sanctions, which had been suspended in 2015 after the signing of a nuclear agreement between Iran and various powers, is a decision that can still be reversed before September 28.
