The Saudi development and reconstruction program will provide almost EUR 317 million to the Yemen budget. This is further support in the ongoing efforts to stabilize.
Saudi Arabia will provide an internationally recognized Yemeni government based in Aden Economic support of almost EUR 317 million. For Reuters, this was stated by a source familiar with this thing, TASR writes.
Riyadh will provide a new subsidy through the Saudi Program of Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) in order to support the government’s budget, the Reuters source explained. The internationally recognized Yemeni government is struggling with poor currency and high prices since the Husy insurgents, supported by Iran, expelled former Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Sali from the capital Sana, which caused a civil war.
In March 2015, a military coalition under the leadership of Saudi Arabia intervened in Yemen in order to restore the exile government, and since then, Yemen has been divided among the internationally recognized government in Aden and the Húsian administration operating in Saná. Riyadh has already provided and support to the government in Aden billion dollars, Reuters adds.
