The governor of, (Republicans), launches this Monday (22) the public consultation of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to disappoint the Tietê and Pinheiros rivers. The estimated investment is R $ 9.5 billion, with the goal of recovering the storage and flow capacity of the watercourses, in order to reduce flooding and eliminate the bad smell.
The concession project, anticipated by the Political Broadcast In February, it will have a period of 15 years. Of the total, R $ 7.76 billion will be allocated to operating expenses and R $ 1.7 billion to investments. The proposal seeks to face the problems of sedimentation of the watercourses.
“It will be an administrative concession, where the state will bear 100% of the consideration, ie the state will finance the service, without tariffs for the population,” explained the Secretary of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics, Natália Resende. “We are modeling a public-private partnership that will ensure that, regardless of those in government, the dealer will continue to be done.”

The government points out that there is a sediment liability in particular in Alto Tietê, which has worsened over the years, even after punctual interventions. PPP will cover 12 municipalities: Salesópolis, Biritiba Mirim, Mogi das Cruzes, Suzano, Itaquaquecetuba, Sao Paulo, Guarulhos, Osasco, Carapicuíba, Barueri, Santana de Parnaíba and Pirapora do Bom Jesus.
The public consultation will be open from September 22 to October 21, and the contributions may be sent to the email disasteamento@cpp.sp.gov.br.
