Autumn is the perfect time to take care of the garden and plant new fruit trees. It is worth knowing that some species grow better in their neighborhood, while others can harm each other.

Beginner gardeners often make a mistake and plant trees too close together. Meanwhile, young cuttings grow rapidly, and the concentrated crown requires regular pruning. In order for the trees to develop healthy and give abundant crops, you need to keep appropriate spacing:

  • apple tree, peach, apricot, plum-at least 3.5-4 meters,
  • pear – minimum 4 meters,
  • Cherry and cherry – preferably 5 meters.

The right space is the basis that the trees do not compete with each other for the sun and nutrients.

Some species even They love their company. When they grow next to each other, they develop faster and result in more abundantly:

  • Mulberry and cherry – mulberry draws the attention of birds that prefer its fruit, thanks to which cherries remain almost intact,
  • apple tree and plum – they have similar requirements and do not compete with each other for water or nutrients,
  • Cherry, plum and cherry – all these species love the sun, which is why they form a successful trio together.

Such combinations are a guarantee of larger collections and healthier trees.
