Therefore, many believe that people with prostheses or other factors that can be interpreted as limiting cannot participate in this sport. However, Marcela Fonseca is an example contrary to this maxim. Currently in the Bikini category, the physical education professional has performed a hip arthroplasty about three years ago.

In an interview, Marcela says the surgery in which she placed the hip prosthesis was after years of living with pain in the region. The postoperative

After surgery, Marcela spent more than two months away from bodybuilding – a longest periods of her life away from the gym since she started practicing at 14. According to traumatologist orthopedist Marco Aurélio Neves, patients must follow a progressive strengthening program.
