Malta will recognize Palestine State at the UN General Assembly

Malta will announce the formal recognition of a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in New York, on Monday (22), the Malta Prime Minister’s office said, joining a group of countries in the initiative.

On Sunday night (21), Robert Abela celebrated the delivery of a shipment of the country to Gaza “on the eve of the recognition of a Palestinian state by Malta”, in a Facebook post.

He stated that the recognition of a Palestinian state was “historical” and that Malta remains committed to achieving peace in the region.
