79 countries have already confirmed accommodation in Belém; Valor will go from $ 144 to US $ 197

The UN (United Nations) has announced that it will increase financial aid for less developed countries to cost spending on COP30, which will be held in November in Belém.

According to a statement from the Brazilian presidency of COP30, the Bureau Executive Secretary of United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), Simon Stiell, said the UN’s daily rate will go from $ 144 to $ 197. The value is granted to 144 developing countries.

The increase meets the demand of these countries that have criticized the capital of Para, claiming impossibility of participation and a possible commitment of the representativeness of nations-parts at the conference. The value readjustment was supported by Brazil.

On Wednesday (17.Set.2025), representatives of the presidency of COP30, the Extraordinary Secretariat for COP30 of the Civil House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Pará met with the Unfccc to deal with the preparations of the event, including the issue of lodging.

Confirmed

Brazil reported that 79 countries have already confirmed accommodation in Belém and 70 are under negotiation. Since August, a task force has served the delegations individually to solve accommodation, transportation and other services.

Organizers survey points out that there are over 42,000 rooms available in the city for the conference period, distributed in hotels, ships, real estate and hosting platforms.

In addition to increasing the UN rate, Brazil suggested that the organization study an emergency reinforcement so that nations can fully cover costs, as reported.
