With tickets to Botafogo-SP, Santo André, Figueirense and América-MG, former goalkeeper Anderson Soares da Silva, better known as Neneca, died on Monday (22), at 45, after not resisting the complications of a heart attack.

He was following a match last Friday (19) of the U17 category between União Esporte Clube, where he worked as a soccer manager, and gym in Rondonópolis, when he felt bad and needed medical attention.

He was hospitalized in the ICU of Santa Casa de Rondonópolis, when doctors detected an aneurysm in the aorta artery and the need for surgery. The former player ended up not resisting.

The goalkeeper has collected national and state titles by teams from the interior of São Paulo. He was Brazilian C Series Champion in 2004 with União Barbarense, and Serie D, in 2015, with Botafogo-SP.

He was also Paulista champion of the A2 series in 2008 with Santo André. For the ABC team, he was also runner-up in 2010, losing the decision to Santos de Neymar.

For Figueirense, he became Santa Catarina champion in 2014.

“On and off the field, Neneca was a reference of character, friendship, professionalism and loyalty. A human being admired by all – there was no one who did not respect him and like him. His departure represents a mourning for Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso and Brazilian football,” wrote União Esporte Clube in publication on social networks.

“Botafogo’s board gives its most sincere feelings and condolences to family and friends, pray that everyone finds the strength to overcome this sad loss,” said Botafogo.
