The outcome in the case of the jaguar that scared residents of Extrema, Porto Velho district (RO), took place on Monday night (22). The animal, which had been seen entering at least two houses throughout the day, was safely rescued by the Fire Department, in joint action with the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama).
Popular images show the jaguar visibly weakened after being sedated to allow safe management. In the video, you can see the rescue team removing the feline, already unconscious, under the eyes of onlookers. Many residents, although frightened at the beginning of the occurrence, were enchanted by the animal’s grandeur and beauty.

According to preliminary information, the jaguar will be taken for veterinary evaluation before it is returned to its natural habitat. Extreme, which is about 300 kilometers from Porto Velho, is surrounded by forest areas and near an indigenous land, factors that contribute to the circulation of wild animals near homes.
