Fennel (pour. Foeniculum vulgaria) It is a perennial belonging to the celery family, and its natural area of occurrence is the area of the Mediterranean. Due to its valuable health -promoting properties, he was also widespread in the cultivation, so today we will meet it in different parts of the world. The plant creates a thickened, juicy tuber with a yellowish -white color, from which stems grow up to 200 cm growing up. During its flowering, the fennel (another name of the fennel) creates a canopy of small yellow flowers.
In many countries, fennel is actually a daily component of the diet, In Poland, it is only gaining popularity.
Why is it worth eating Italian dill? The fennel is extremely valuable to the health of virtually the whole body. Its numerous applications include, among others: improvement in digestion, reduction of unpleasant symptoms of flatulence, improvement of intestinal work, expectorant or anti -inflammatory effect. Italian dill is a common component of preparations that facilitate defecation. Thanks to the high content of dietary fiber, fennel can also accelerate metabolism and generally positively affect the slimming process. It also prevents heartburn.
The participation of this plant in antibacterial prevention is also noteworthy. Regular use of preparations based on it helps reduce the risk of bacterial infections and strengthens the natural protection of the body. In addition, fennel can have a diuretic and lower blood pressure, it is also used to relieve the symptoms of menopause.
All this makes the Italian dill undeniably healthy – that’s why it’s worth including it in your diet.
Fennel In the kitchen it is a versatile vegetable. First of all, it is a very good ingredient in various salads or soups – it will not only give them taste, but also vitamins. Italian dill can be baked, stewed or eaten raw, there are plenty of possibilities.
Some also prepare Hot fennel. If you want to try, you will need:
- 2 fenculas,
- clarified butter,
- Parmesan checked as possible as possible,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- roasted almond flakes.
Cook the fennel tubers in salted water for about 15 minutes. Remove, cool, cut into eights. Heat two tablespoons of butter in a frying pan, add chopped fennels. Simmer for a few minutes, add garlic, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Remove from the pan, sprinkle with almonds and dill of the fennel.
