Aircraft entered the Brazilian airspace without authorization; The suspicion is for drug transport

The (Brazilian Air Force) intercepted this Monday (22.Set.2025) a plane that entered the Brazilian airspace coming from Peru without authorization. The aircraft, which had no flight plan and flying without visible enrollment, was detected by air defense radars and accompanied by a super toucan A-29 fighter.

Agents were taken to the scene in a FAB helicopter and arrested the pilot in the act. Authorities investigate evidence that the aircraft was carrying drugs that may have been discarded during the escape.

According to FAB, the pilot did not respond to radio contacts or visual orders to change route. Warning shots were filed and then a detention shot, a measure authorized by 2004 for aircraft considered suspicious. The action led the plane to perform a forced landing in an isolated area near tefé (AM).

The operation is part of airspace policing in border regions to combat international trafficking.
