Lula gathers with Zelensky and advocates greater UN engagement in the search for peace

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met on Wednesday with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and defended a greater UN engagement in the search for a negotiated solution for the country’s war with Russia, Planalto Palace said.

According to the statement, during the meeting held on the banks of the UN General Assembly, Lula reiterated Zelensky his conviction that there will be no military departure for the conflict and heard from the Ukrainian leader a thanks for the “efforts of President Lula to find paths to peace, exploring possibilities in dialogue with other countries.”
