The trigger for the angry mob at around 3,600 meters above sea level was actually a hunger strike. The local climate paper Sonam Wangchuk had been starving again for around two weeks. The 59-year-old is lying in a clearly visible place in the local capital Leh in ceilings. Often many followers starve with him. Wangchuk posts videos on social networks, in which he always declines his demands: Ladakh, i.e. the northernmost region of India, must become a real state. The region also needs more autonomy rights.
