Senators Jorge Seif (PL-SC) and Randolfe Rodrigues (PT-AP), Government leader in Congress, discussed, on Wednesday (24), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if the compliments between President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and Donald Trump make the PL of amnesty difficult.

Seif understands that the two subjects have no relationship.

“This attitude unfortunately had to leave President Trump for President Lula to seek the meeting. This is beneficial for Brazil and Brazilians. Regardless of party and ideology, we need to resolve the issue of tariff,” he said.

“Glad that there was this dialogue, not for search of Brazil, unfortunately, but by an attitude of Nobility of Donald Trump. I hope this meeting will happen and that good fruits leave. When I speak of good fruits, it is specifically talking about reducing these tariffs,” he continued.

Randolfe sees a connection between the two themes.

“The US President has already cited the ongoing process here in Brazil to apply the tariffs against Brazil. It is a premise that matters unfortunately intersect, because what we watched in this whole process was an external aggression against our country,” he said.

“The action against Brazil was first architected, articulated by a letter that departed from the United States government. It is important to say that this letter had motivation of Brazilians, which is the most absurd,” he continued.

During a news conference in New York, Lula commented. The petista said he thought he “painted a chemistry.”
