The Brazilian ETF (Bolsa Bolsa) market for cryptocurrency funds has gained a major competitor: Swiss manager 21shares, a world leader in cryptors listed, with US $ 11 billion in assets under management.
The company debuts in the country on Thursday (25), at the opening of the B3 trading session, with six of ETPs (Exchange Traded Products)-a term used in Europe as an ETFs umbrella and other types of funds traded on the bag.
In an interview with InfomoneyBruna Cabús, senior associate of 21shares to the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, said that the manager studied the Brazilian market for three years before deciding to set up her own operation in the country, today with six employees.
“The timing is now the right. We see a growing demand in the retail and institutions.

A survey released in April by the Locomotiva Institute showed that 42% of Brazilian investors are already crypto, the same percentage that invests in investment funds. Another recent Datafolha survey estimates that at least 25 million people in the country be investors in digital assets.
21shares has about 30% of the European crypto market and offers more than 50 products in Europe, the United States and Australia. Among them is the Ark 21shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), in partnership with the manager, one of the first ETFs in sight of Bitcoin () from the USA.
In Brazil, the company will have a partnership with BTG Pactual and Virtu, which will act as market trainers of the six BDRs. Currently, the country already has more than 20 listed cryptocurrency funds, some of them among the most negotiated B3.
