Inflation preview records 0.48% in September

The (National Consumer Price Index 15) recorded a 0.48% increase in September 2025, according to data released on Thursday (25.Set.2025) by (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics).

In the accumulated of 2025, inflation measured by the IPCA-15 rise is 5.32% in the year. Already the annualized rate (12 months period ended in September) passed 3.76% in September.

In August, the was -0.14%. The accumulated index in September follows above the ceiling of the goal defined by the (National Monetary Council) of 4.5%.

The September index was pulled by the housing group, up 3.31%, especially for energy, which rose 12.17% in September with the end of the incorporation of the Itaipu bonus, credited in invoices issued in August.

In the clothing group (0.97%), the highs are highlighted in women’s clothing (1.19%) and shoes and accessories (1.02%).

The result of the health and personal care group (0.36%) in September was influenced by the health plan (0.50%).

In food and beverages (-0.35%), home food group recorded a variation of -0.63%, after retreating 1.02%in the previous month. Contributed to this result the falls of tomatoes (-17.49%), onion (-8.65%), rice (-2.91%) and ground coffee (-1.81%). On the high side, the fruits stand out, which rose on average 1.03%.

Food outside the household (0.36%) slowed over the previous month (0.71%), due to the least intense high snack (1.44% in August to 0.70% in September) and meal (from 0.40% to 0.20%).

In the Transportes Group (-0.25%and -0.05 pp), the result was influenced by voluntary vehicle insurance (-5.95%) and airline tickets (-2.61%). Regarding fuels (-0.10%), vehicle gas (-1.55%) and gasoline (-0.13%) registered a drop in prices, while diesel oil (0.38%) and ethanol (0.15%) had highs.
