Anabolic steroids (EAS) encompass a sensitive topic within the “fitness” environment. Many question to what extent it is possible to record notable evolutions in the physical without the use of exogenous hormones. Businesswoman, drum queen and presenter, Juliana Salimeni has already admitted the use of these medicines and is direct about the theme: “The more hidden this subject gets, the more dangerous it is.”
In an interview, the former Panicat points out that the lack of knowledge can aggravate the problem caused by the indiscriminate use of these hormones. “Without information, people do dangerous things, use products without medical advice or frustrate because they are unable to achieve their goals,” says Juju, a nickname the fitness muse is known.
“I think the way I speak is honest and makes clear the importance of medical follow -up to have the desired body. This subject needs to stop being a taboo and be discussed clearly,” he adds.
It is important to emphasize that EAS are drugs that have as their main function the replacement of hormones in patients with deficit. Its use without medical recommendation can lead to various side effects, such as increased acne, alopecia aggravation, greater heart risk and mood changes.
Inspiration for Sport
Present in Olympia since 2021, the Wellness category is one of the most desired by young bodybuilders who dream of competing in bodybuilding today. The standard requested by the referees consists of more developed lower limbs than the superiors, highlighting buttocks and thighs.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, the cited division was created to highlight the most striking features of Brazilian women – no wonder the top 5 of the last edition of Olympia was composed of four athletes representing Brazil.
In the mid -2000s, when the category was created, Juju – hardly to the other panicats of the time – was regarded as the aesthetic pattern to be achieved. “I took this pattern and this TV style and, consequently, the other girls joined too and that was spreading,” recalls the model.
“The Wellness category was inspired by my body […]it started with my style and has been developing over the years. I am very happy to have been responsible for creating this movement, “he adds.
Stages
Asked about why he never ventured into competitive sport, Juju claims he never had a “spirit of athlete.” According to the host, she could not fully devote herself to bodybuilding due to the amount of professional commitments her career demands.
“I’ve had incentives, years ago, but I ended up not following because I never had this spirit of athlete. I also always had a very busy life due to recordings and my other works, so I could not dedicate myself 100% of the way it is needed. I think my image is more focused on the encouragement and motivation of a healthy life and not something as extreme as bodybuilding,” he concludes.
