Infectologist Thor Dantas, who presents herself as a pre-candidate for the Government of Acre in 2026, made an analysis of the performance of the current governor Gladson Cameli (PP) during an interview with Podcast on Scene, ContilNet.
According to Thor, Cameli demonstrated sensitivity and intelligence by dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, but has weaknesses that, in his assessment, compromise government performance.

“Gladson had a fantastic intuitive capacity and intelligence. I mentioned it at that moment of the pandemic when much of the political group was from this group that walked with all the daydreams and incompetence regarding pandemic management,” he said.
The infectologist pointed out that Cameli distanced himself from some positions from then -President Jair Bolsonaro, which, for him, was fundamental.
“He felt that the president was not correct about the pandemic and it was not there. So Gladson has my big respect for it. Also for the way he treats everyone well. He is a person of kindness in dealing,” he said.
Despite the compliments, Thor stressed that he sees limitations on the governor’s profile when it comes to executive management.
“But I think Gladson has some weaknesses in management, in the Gladson government, which draw my attention. Gladson’s person may not be the ideal profile for the executive. Perhaps his profile is more appropriate for the legislature than pro executive. The executive requires some planning, team leadership, range of goals, which is not his forte,” he said.
Thor added by stating that in his view Cameli was more effective when he worked in Parliament.
“He was a much better parliamentarian than he was governor. It’s my opinion and I see it with data,” he concluded.
