The German Christian Bruecknerthe main suspect in the case of the disappearance of, was released just over a week ago, after serving a seven -year sentence for violating and torturing a 72 -year -old American tourist in Portugal in 2005.

The still main suspect in the disappearance and possible death of Maddie was filmed, in a mobile phone store, where he says he had “Special information that can solve the century scandal”he cites the store manager to the British newspaper, which brings images of video surveillance of the moment that lasted several minutes.

Without ever directly referring to Maddie’s name, Brueckner is spotted to display the electronic surveillance bracelet, raising his leg to the counter, and talking for about 90 minutes with the store manager, Farouk Salah-Brahmin. According to the latter, Brueckner He hinted to be in danger and that “some people” want to kill him.

“I was told that they were going cold, that it would not last long. I told me that someone wants to make him disappear, that someone was going to kill him,” Farouk reveals.

According to the manager, Brueckner said he left Kiel because “there were many police around him and that was not sure,” says the manager.

During the years he was in prison, Brueckner always refused to cooperate with the authorities or to answer questions about Madeleine’s disappearance. Now, at the time of departure from prison, talk to the British authorities about the case, in which he was never accused.

There are currently no detention warrants against Brueckner in relation to the Maddie case, which prevents authorities from keeping him arrested.

Maddie disappeared when she was 3, on May 3, 2007, from the tourist apartment where she was staying with her family at Luz Beach. Brueckner lived in the zone at the time and her mobile phone was located near the Ocean Club, where the McCann were staying on the night of the disappearance. However, those on site – including some this summer – never found.

Seventeen years later, the case continues to represent one of the greatest mysteries of the century.
