An MMA (mixed martial arts) competition mobilized the interior of Amapá last weekend for a reason beyond the “main card”. Among the most anticipated fighting of the night were councilors Jairison Ataíde Vales (MDB), Porto Grande’s Conjaki and Samuel Santos Paiva (PSDB), Ferreira Gomes’s The Dentinho.
The fight took place on Saturday (20) at the GFC Fight Night in Porto Grande, about 115 kilometers from Macapá. Councilman Conjaki, 38, dominated the three rounds and beat the 35 -year -old opponent Dentinho, who gave up being cornered several times and punched his head.
On the eve of the event, on Friday (19), the Public Prosecutor of Amapá recommended that the councilors would not fight, pointing out “conduct incompatible with the dignity of civil service and parliamentary decorum”, as well as “trivialization of violence as a method of political expression”.

“My goal was solely and exclusively support the sport and encourage young people from both the municipality of Porto Grande and Ferreira Gomes to engage in healthy activities that promote integration between communities,” he said.
Dentinho stressed that the clash was friendly and sports. “My participation with Councilman Conjaki, who is my friend, was completely free and with a unique objective of entertainment to the citizens and lovers of this type of event,” he added.
