The Siberia Bridge in Xapuri enters the final stage of construction and is expected to open for the end of October. The visit of the Governor of Acre, Gladson Camelí, on Wednesday (24), allowed to monitor the completion of the frame of the slab, the beams and the protection of the cables.
According to the Acre Roads Department (Deracre), about 70 professionals work at this stage, which has already reached 93% of the conclusion. The total investment exceeds R $ 40 million, being R $ 15 million of parliamentary amendment from Senator Marcio Bittar and R $ 25 million from the state.

“I am very proud, I go shiver. With faith in God, I will give the answer to my opponents who criticize me,” said Camelí, thrilled, highlighting the impact of the work on the city. He also stressed that the bridge ensures a constitutional right: to come and go. “While many countries drop bridges, Acre is building. Today we are in the last touches to definitely unite the two headwaters.”

Deracre’s president, Sula Ximenes, emphasized the agency’s commitment to the delivery of the work and the direct benefit to more than 5,000 people. “Decreo is this: commitment, responsibility, delivery. We are here to fulfill our obligation with the people of Acre,” he said.

The mayor of Xapuri, Maxusel Maia, celebrated the advancement of the bridge and remembered other recent achievements of the city. “Today is a day of great emotion for the people of Xapuri. Two weeks ago we opened the road of the variant, and now we closely follow the final phase of building the Siberia Bridge, which will be inaugurated by the end of October. It is a source of great joy and gratitude for all of us,” he said.
