This supermarket that is 'next to the Algarve' side is the cheapest in Spain (and not marketing): see how much you can save

With feeding prices and salaries to keep practically stagnant, any savings opportunity gains relevance. The latest study of the organization of consumers and users (OCCO) revealed which are the cheapest chains in Spain and highlighted a name that has been repeated: Andaluza Dani.

According to occupy, cited by ABC de Andalucía, regional edition of the Andalusian of the Spanish Generalist Daily Journal ABC, this regional chain remains the most economical to shop in Spanish territory.

Founded in 1959 in Granada, Dani started with a small store in the city center and, in the 70’s, opened its first supermarket. Today it has 18 establishments, mostly in Granada (14), but also in Malaga, Jaén and Almería.

What distinguishes the Dani chain

According to the Andalucía ABC, the proximity model and the bet on low prices are the keys of success. The expansion of jail in the 1990s consolidated its presence in several Andalusian cities, always maintaining an aggressive price policy that differentiates it from competitors.

In addition to Dani, other regional chains such as Tifer and Family Cash also stand out on the occupation’s list. Already at national level, the supermarkets pack arise as the most competitive. Lidl, Consum and Mercado are equally among the cheapest options, although with prices up to 9% higher compared to leading insignia.

The most expensive to fill the cart

At the other end of the table, the study of the occupation points to the Sánchez Romero jail as the most expensive for the consumer. Secondly the supercor hypermarkets come. The difference is not small: according to the survey, a family can save up to 1,132 euros a year, just by choosing where to shop.

Localities with lower prices

The conclusions of the study also show that the cheapest municipalities to fill the cart are in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the province of Cadis, and in Torrent, in the Valencian community.

Shortly thereafter there are several Andalusian locations, such as Cordoba, Utrera, Linares, Roquetas, Fuengirola, Alcalá de Guadaíra and San Fernando. In Valencia, cities like Gandía, Paternal, Denia or Sagunto also enter the ranking, as well as some locations of Estremadura.

According to this, these data confirm that Andalusia and Valencia continue to lead in the offer of low prices for consumers.

The invoice continues to grow

Despite the differences between regions and chains, the occupation stresses that the average value of the shopping basket has risen again. By 2025, the average annual expense by Spanish family rounds the 6,259 euros, 3% more than the previous year.

A value that reflects the pressure of food inflation and that makes the choice of the right supermarket increasingly important.
