United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the secret service is investigating what he described as “sabotage” in the United Nations, claiming that a malfunction of the escalator, a flaw on teleprrompter and sound problems disrupted his presentation at the world agency the day before.
In a publication on his social Truth platform, Trump said a escalator that carried him and his wife Melania “stopped sharply” on the way to the main floor, almost causing them to fall. He asked for the arrest of the official.
The US president also said that Teleprompter was dark at the beginning of his speech and that the world leaders in the hall could not hear it because the sound system failed.

UN officials said the safety mechanism embedded in the escalator had been triggered and that Teleprompter was operated by the White House, not by the organization.
Referring to the series of events such as “Triple Sabotage,” Trump reported that he asked the UN to preserve the images from the security cameras and demanded an investigation. He said the secret service is investigating the matter.

UN authorities did not immediately respond to a request for commentary on Trump’s investigation request.
Previously, the UN spokesman, Stéphane Dujaric, had explained that a reading of the Central Roadmill Processing Unit indicated that it “had stopped after a safety mechanism embedded in the end of the comb was triggered at the top of the escalator.”
Dujaric said Trump’s cameraman was rising the back escort to capture his arrival with the first lady.

“The cameraman may have inadvertently triggered the safety function,” he said.
An UN employee told Reuters on Tuesday that the White House had operated on its own teleprompter.
In response to the claim that delegates could not hear Trump, the employee said the sound system was designed to allow people in their seats to hear the speeches translated into six different languages through headphones.
