O, designated as in the House Ethics Council, guaranteed, in an interview with Backstage CNN, that the conduction of the case will follow criteria of impartiality and ethics.

Freitas explained that the process is in the initial phase, called admissibility judgment, in which it will be evaluated if there are objective requirements for the continuation of the case in the Ethics Council.

Decision -making

The rapporteur emphasized that decisions will be made collegiately made by the Council, which is composed of 21 federal deputies from different parties and states. “The decision is always made, whether by filing or by continuity, in a collegiate manner by the Ethics Council,” he said.

Right to defense

If the case is admitted, Eduardo Bolsonaro will have the opportunity to present his technical defense and appoint up to eight witnesses. Freitas stressed that the rights to the contradictory and broad defense will be guaranteed, as provided for in administrative proceedings.

Only after the completion of all procedural steps and the guarantee of the right of defense will the Council establish a value judgment on the possible suspension of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s parliamentary mandate.
