German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned on Thursday about the growing threat represented by Russian space activities, citing concerns with two Russian satellites that are tracking intelsat satellites used by German and others.
“: They can stop satellite operations, blind satellites, manipulate them or destroy them kinetically,” he said at a spatial conference in Berlin.
Pistorius stressed the need for negotiations on the development of offensive capabilities in space as a determination, pointing to the use of two of his Luch Olymp satellites to track intelsat satellites.
