China’s Prime Minister Li Qiang said humanity came to a crossroads during his speech at the UN General Assembly on Friday (26), warning of a “serious challenge” to the Liberal International Order.

“The rules and international order built over the last 80 years are under serious challenges, and the once effective international system is constantly interrupted,” Li said.

“The various induced problems are distressing and worrying. Humanity has come to a crossroads,” he added.

“Anyone who cares about the worldwide situation would wonder: Why do we humans, having emerged from tribulation, couldn’t adopt a greater sense of consciousness and rationality, treat each other kindly and coexist in peace?” The prime minister added.

It also pointed out that it is actively involved in resolving “controversial questions” around the world, “like the crisis in Ukraine and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” also the symbolism of the UN headquarters in New York, which, he said, moved him upon arriving.

“When I arrived this time, I saw more than 190 national flags lined in front of the building, fluttering to the wind. I saw the sculptures that turned swords into plows and non -violence with their increasingly strong time -consecrated message,” he said.
