PSD national president states that the governors of Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul are options if the current head of the Paulista executive decides to run for reelection
The national president of the PSD, said on Friday (26) that the party intends to support the governor of São Paulo (Republicans), if he decides to run for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026. During Communicas event in Sao Paulo, Kassab stressed that Tarcisio is today the main name of the center right, but said that if he chooses to reelection to the São Paulo government, the party will have their own alternatives. According to the leader, the governors (RS) and (PR), both affiliated with the acronym, have already placed themselves as pre-candidates and have internal support.
“Our course is with Governor Tarcisio, or Governor Ratinho, or Governor Eduardo Leite. This is already pacified inside the party,” said Kassab. The president also stated that the former president’s decision (PL) about his successor will be decisive for the formation of alliances in the right and center-right field. “Bolsonaro is one of Brazil’s great political leaders. At the appropriate time, his demonstration will be important for a final decision on the construction of alliances.”
Kassab also commented on the institutional relationship between Tarcísio and the President (PT). For him, both have acted jointly in combating organized crime, citing recent operations against the CCP. Eduardo Leite pondered that there is still time to define the bloc candidate. According to him, the priority must be the construction of a agenda of commitments that privilege wisdom and dialogue, instead of political polarization.
