Suspicious drones appeared over Slzvicko-Holstein. Germany has increased security measures and coordinates air protection with NATO and neighboring states.

Above the territory of the German Federal Land of Šlezvicko-Holstein, drones, which are the subject of investigations for possible espionage and sabotage, were observed on Friday night. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior, writes TASR, according to the Reuters report.

“Partially, as a result of recent incidents in Denmark and other European countries, Slzvic-Holstein is in close and constant contact with the Federal Government and the German Armed Forces,” said Land Minister of the Interior Sütterlin-Wawack.

Air protection

In recent weeks, Russian fighters and drones have disrupted the airspace of several European members of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), including Estonia or Poland. Ten European Union countries on Friday therefore conducted first talks on proposals for the construction of a protidron barrier. The video conference convened by the European Commissioner for Defense Adrius Kubilius was attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Ukrainian Government and States on the eastern border of the Union, including Slovakia.

Some NATO leaders have indicated that, while further disturbing the airspace by Russian aircraft, the Alliance should make them shot down. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump also said this idea. The Kremlin described these statements as “irresponsible and reckless”, saying that they bring “dangerous consequences”.
