The Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP) upheld, in the second instance, against two former left-wing. The decision of Judge Ricardo Fiala de Oliveira was issued on Thursday (25).
Pavanato had been due to his behavior in an event in April 2022 at the PUC (Pontifical Catholic University), whose theme was precisely gender political violence.
Among the complainants were former deputy Manuela D’Avila (PCdoB) and Isa Penna (PSOL).
According to the complaint, Pavanato embarrassed women present at the event, such as the two former parliamentarians filming them and provocations. Then he posted the video on his social networks.
In the decision of the first instance, the electoral judge Paulo Eduardo Sorci understood that there was no sufficient elements in Pavanato behavior to characterize gender political violence, a relatively new criminal type.
The former deputy appealed, but the decision was upheld in the second instance. There is still appeal.
