Auction of water crossings will be on November 13

20 -year concession includes electric fleet, new terminals and improvements to 21 million annual users

The Government of São Paulo on Monday (22.Set.2025), in the State Official Gazette, the announcement for the sponsored concession of the water crossing system. Structured by the Secretariat of Partnerships in Investments, the project foresees the complete modernization of 14 passenger and vehicle watercraft lines, with auction scheduled for November 13, 2025, at B3, in São Paulo. The update of the notice brings legal, technical and operational adjustments that expand the attractiveness of the project and guarantee legal certainty, predictability and greater competitiveness in the event. The decision to republish the announcement and relocate the auction date complied with investor requests, which requested more deadline to deepen their studies in the face of the complexity of the project.

With a 20 -year concession period and investments of about R $ 2.5 billion, the PPP of water crossings foresees the replacement of the current fleet with 45 new vessels, of which 41 with electrical motorization, in addition to the construction and standardization of terminals with modern infrastructure, climate control, accessible bathrooms and food and information areas.

The system today serves approximately 11 million passengers and 10 million vehicles per year. With the new, larger and more modern vessels, it will be possible to reduce queues, including in periods of high season, and offer more comfort and safety to the population. The contract also ensures the maintenance of the current tariff base and the gratuities already practiced.
