Barroso said that one of the highlights of his performance at the Court was to have worked against the implementation of the printed vote, even if the posture resulted in attacks against him.

And second, if we are dealing with radical groups, they were able to invade this room here from the Supreme, Congress and the Plateau, you can imagine what they could not do in the electoral sessions. So I think there was a decisive card in Brazilian democracy.”
Pacification of the country
Barroso said he regretted the fact that he left the presidency of the Supreme Court without being able to pacify the country, with “still many angry nuclei” scattered in the Brazilian political scenario.
“I would like to have been the person who could have made a greater rescue of civility in the country, which is perfectly possible,” he said. The president of the Supreme Court said the trials of the coup plot and January 8 made it difficult to pacification.
