Premie Li Qiang failed in person at the General Assembly; Xi Jinping made participation by video
Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang defended international solidarity and praised multilateralism during his speech at the UN General Assembly (United Nations) on Friday (27.Set.2025) in New York. President XI Jinping (Communist Party of China), attended the meeting through a video.
During his speech at the UN headquarters, Li criticized protectionist and unilateral measures that, according to him, impair the international order. Not to mention the United States, the representative defended an international cooperation system – which contrasts with the protectionist tariffs applied by President Donald Trump (Republican).
“In the midst of slow global growth, we must invigorate cooperation and seek win-win results. Self-statement cannot produce lasting development. Only through openness and cooperation can we reinforce the impulse of development.”declared the representative.
According to the prime minister, China has maintained developmental development, contributing approximately 30% to world economic growth. The country has reduced its overall fare to 7.3% and remains the 2nd largest importer worldwide for 16 consecutive years.
“An active participant in international cooperation in scientific technology innovation, China encouraged the sharing of cutting -edge technologies such as 5G and IA, and has been involved in joint efforts to promote new drivers of economic growth.”he said during the speech.
Li announced that China will work with the UN to establish an installation “Global South South Development”providing US $ 10 million in budget support. The country will also be associated with UNDP (United Nations Program for Development) to create a global center for sustainable development in Shanghai.
The premie also mentioned that Xi Jinping announced 2 days earlier in the United Nations climate summit, the nationally determined contributions of China. The country, the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide, will establish one of 7% to 10% emissions by 2035.
China aims to implement the four main global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping: the global development initiative, the global security initiative, the global civilization initiative and the global governance initiative.
In addition, the prime minister mentioned the country’s commitment to develop scientific research on outer space, biosafety and AI (artificial intelligence). Li announced Beijing will donate to the UN samples of lunar soil collected by the chang’e-6 mission on the hidden side of the moon, with the first samples already obtained.
