The Federal Court released R $ 2.5 billion for the payment of arrears of 157.6 thousand retired and pensioners of the INSS (Institute of Social Security) who earned 116,000 lawsuits against the agency.
The arrears are retroactive values that the beneficiary is entitled to receive for a period when the benefit was due, but was not paid by INSS error. They are paid by RPV (Small Value Requisition) of up to 60 minimum wages.
The money is released by the Federal Court to the TRF’s (Federal Regional Court), which distribute to the policyholders in their region who have gained actions. The order of payment depends on the schedule of each TRF.

The total amount released was higher: R $ 2.9 million, but the remaining amount concerns shares, such as salary indemnities to servers, for example. This amount will be destined to 247,722 beneficiaries, distributed by 194,308 processes.
